Doesn’t make any progress!!

Doesn’t seem to make any progress for US and EU version, although download contents has already been released in Japan!!
We have been scolded like this from far and wide.

That’s fair enough, we let this blog stand about 2 months.
Today, we are going to inform you that how US and EU version are.

First of all, the sales area is North America and Europe, in addition to that, Oceania (Australia etc.).
For releasing these areas, we must pass the rating review in each country or area. It takes loooong time.

The rating organization is called ESRB in North America, and we have already done it.
OFLC is the one in Oceania, we have just done it and got ‘G’ rating.

In Europe, there are two rating organizations we must pass, called PEGI and USK.
But we haven’t heard from USK yet, it’s been more than 2 months since we started to contact with it…

We would like to release LA-MULANA for English version around the same time as much as possible in each area.
Under these circumstances, we can’t report the release date to you.

By the way, LA-MULANA for Japanese version was updated yesterday.
We did fix some fatal bugs and improve operating method, so we are going to release the English version as the latest version.
Don’t worry about that.

I’m so sorry, but that’s all we can tell you for now.
Just wait for a bit, please!

Comments

  1. hows it going brill place you have got above

  2. Robo_Erectus says

I was wondering, are there plans to release this new version of La Mulana on PC?

  3. I fail to see the logic in this method, by doing this you’re going to eventually discourage players from wanting to even buy your game and that may increase the rate at which it is pirated instead of bought. You should strongly reconsider your release plans and just put it out in the regions that have already had it rated, there’s no need to force everyone to wait just because one region can’t get their shit together.

  4. Shit Tits says

If the US already has a rating then slap a price on it and release it already
I’m not understanding why a UK rating is delaying the release of a game to the US

  5. “We would like to release LA-MULANA for English version around the same time as much as possible in each area.”

This is silly. If this is the real reason for the game’s hold up, please reconsider.

  6. Kesley says

This is your baby so I’m not going to complain. I will be happy as long as La-Mulana makes it to the Wii sometime in it’s lifespan, hopefully sooner than later. Can’t wait!

  7. tinman says

There has to be some sort of feedback by now. You either have or haven’t got the USK rating. So, what will it be?

Please try to give us updates on the situation more often. Don’t make us nag about the lack of information until you feel kind of pressed and therefore offer an update.

  8. Arucard says

The update discussing the guide book says it will come before the game, will we see the first part of that before the NA release?

  9. King Reggin says

Release within 24 hours or I sue for false advertisement and fraud.

  10. It’s confirmed and rated in USK! You’re good to go, guys and gals! Do the best you can to get it released.
Until then, your patient fans will wait on your behalf 🙂

  11. Abster says

Funny how a simple ratings confusion is preventing this from getting its English release. Ah well, not too much longer now…

  12. Anonymous52555 says

It seems everyone has forgotten that back in November, early December, Nintendo rejected La Mulana. But the USK approved it. So this is probably where the confusion lies.

  13. LA-MULANA STAFF says

    Thank you for many comments.
I am sorry for having caused you so much worry.
We are currently contacting Nicalis and USK for confirmation over this.
please wait for a little while longer.

    Thanks!

    Shoji Nakamura
    Producer of NIGORO

  14. Nightgazer says

Wow, that’s gotta be anoying for you. I understand that La-Mulana is a long game, but two months to rate it is ridiculous. Hopefully they’ll get back to you soon. Keep us posted, and thanks for the update!

  15. Linkshot says

I think you should release it in all the other regions.
Perhaps this will get everybody in Europe to speak up. In turn, the USK might get its act together for future games to be rated.

Also, what were the fatal glitches?

  16. Parnash says

Well, I can wait a little longer. Besides, the longer I wait, the more likely that you guys will find bugs with the original version.

  17. From the USK website:

    La-Mulana

    System: Nintendo Wii
    Genre: Rollenspiel / actionorientiert
    [RPG / Action RPG]

    Publisher: Nicalis, Inc.

Altersfreigabe: Freigegeben ab 12 Jahren gemäß § 14 JuSchG
    [12 years and up]

    Prüfdatum [date of approval]: 24.11.2010

    USK Nr.: 29469/10

    Sprache: englisch

Looks to me like it did get a rating LAST YEAR. And according to the USK themselve, someone emailed them about this,

“The legally binding [as in: ready for sale] approval process for the game [La-Mulana] under that very USK number was finished by November 24th by approving the game. Therefore it’s all done as far as we can say. There’s no new situation causing a hold-up from our side.”

    Christine Schulz: schulz–at–usk.de

  18. VonSeux says

release it on US already… WiiWare is dying, youre the last big game for the service… fans are starving! You must release it before Skyward Sword anyway, after that, the Wii is Last-Gen.

  19. Burny says

Correction on my part: It was nintendolife user tinman. He says he has contacted the USK and actually got a response:

“The legally binding [as in: ready for sale] approval process for the game [La-Mulana] under that very USK number was finished by November 24th by approving the game. Therefore it’s all done as far as we can say. There’s no new situation causing a hold-up from our side.”

    So…?

  20. tinman says

More news regarding the USK rating. My contact Christine Schulz (head of testing dept.) told me via e-mail that the game is approved as listed in their database (see my last posting for that). So, maybe this is just some sort of misunderstanding. Just grab a phone or write an e-mail and contact USK right away.

  21. Domo arigatou gozaimashita!

Thank you guys for the update. I was starting to be worried about the future of the English version of La Mulana. So, let’s just wait a bit longer.

    Regards!

  22. Burny says

Another gonintendo user found that the USK has rated La-Mulana for ages 12 and above on 11.24.2010. At least that’s what their title search says, if you enter “La-Mulana” into the search form on the right:
    http://www.usk.de/titelsuche/titelsuche/

Why isn’t this already through with the USK when the game supposedly has been rated half a year ago?

  23. tinman says

  24. MYKSelf says

Not to be callous, but La-mulana on USK is already rated:

    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/lamulanausk.jpg/

Maybe you had a miscomunication problema?

(Sorry for not putting an URL, but it seems the USK search don’t suports URL search. You can test this result going to http://www.usk.de/en/ and search for “la-mulana” on the search field)

(BTW, I’ve tested PEGI and there is rated too: http://www.pegi.info/es/index/global_id/505/?searchString=la-mulana)

  25. Anonymous52555 says

Oh the silly USK is causing trouble is it. Oh well.

  26. Billy says

I’m kind of upset at the game being held up because of whatever European business standards are like that they don’t respond to you after 2 months and such…

Just release the game in NA at least already ;;… I’ve been waiting since the later half of ’09 and I don’t think I can wait the additional 6+ months for the European ratings jerks to finally get back to you 😡

  27. Thanks a lot for making this post! I was starting to worry, but I’m glad I have an idea of the current situation now. Please let us know as soon as the ratings junk gets resolved!

  28. This is the most anticipated game in my wishlist. but, as long as the game is released, I don’t mind waiting a little longer.

  29. I never did thank Samieru-san for getting back to me when I tweeted him about what I saw in the preview video for Hell Temple (looks absolutely brutal!) So, I’ll just thank all of you guys for this update here!

I didn’t realize you guys were going for a simultaneous release in all the other regions, but at least that way the game will be done and out everywhere!

    Looking forward to future updates.

  30. MasterSaturn says

Thanks for the info guys, been checking every other day since E3, good to know most of the ratings are finished with :p Heres hoping for the last to come in soon and for a successful english launch! Loved the game on PC, Wii version looks amazing, looking forward to playing it 🙂

  31. MoneyMan says

Hopefully everything will get done soon!

  32. I don’t mind waiting a bit longer, because I know it’ll be worth it 🙂
